Dinnertime was the bedrock of my childhood. As a first-generation American, my Italian mamma taught me that sharing a homemade meal with seasonal ingredients had the power to nurture our health, strengthen family bonds, and connect us to where we lived and where we came from.

My career in food - from working with indigenous farmers in Ecuador to opening a restaurant in Nicaragua and writing cookbooks - has reinforced the importance of shared meals, and understanding where our food comes from.

As a mother of two, dinnertime continues to be a daily ritual that begins with a simple question: what’s in season?

Over two decades I’ve refined recipes, tools, and strategies for my food blog and cookbooks to help people of all ages and experience confidently prepare seasonally-inspired meals at home. I’ve been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Epicurious, Martha Stewart, Forbes, and Food Network Star Season 10.

In Time For Dins, I’ll reveal my best kept secrets and inspiration for preparing family dinner at home (something I had to figure out myself once having kids).

  • Each week I’ll share a new, seasonal recipe and the story that inspired it, along with related resources.
