Hello my friends,
Last week I dove into the experience of being an identical twin, and introduced you to my other half, Dimity.
(I included one of my favorite recipes to make with Dim, so don’t miss out on that!)
You may have also caught me tease a new project that we’ve been dream-scheming together…
Drum roll…
INTRODUCING: Dinner Last Night, a brand new podcast about how parents around the world feed their families, and how this daily act struggle connects us all.
Let me give you a little background first.
Dim and I are both mothers (and now, co-hosts of Dinner Last Night).
Dimity has two boys and I have two girls, because 👯♀️ ☯️.
When we became parents, figuring out what to make for dinner—and how to get our families to eat it, EVERY NIGHT—was hard.
Between finding time to shop and cook, dodging tantrums, balancing nutrition, and honoring traditions, we often felt like we were facing the daily dinner struggle alone.
So we started accosting—er, I mean approaching—other parents at the playground and asking them, “what did you have for dinner last night?”
We probably looked frazzled and depraved, fishing for some scrap of inspiration to latch on to.
But, this simple question often led to an impromptu forum / support group with other caregivers, where we would dive into a rich discussion on how work, daily rhythms, and culture affected mealtime in our families. They were opportunities to exchange stories and commiserate.
We quickly learned we’re all connected by this daily ritual—and struggle.
Not only did it bring us a sense of comfort and solidarity, but we also discovered a world of game-changing mealtime tricks, inspiration, and recipes.
So even though our lives are already crazy (like most parents raising kids and working), and neither of us really has “extra time” to casually start a podcast, we decided it was time to launch Dinner Last Night. 😅
That’s how much we believe in the simple idea of swapping unfiltered stories about dinner, with parents around the world.
Figuring out what to eat very night is universal. Whether it’s pasta from scratch or cereal in a pinch, every meal has a story—one that proves we’re all in this delicious mess together.
We have an amazing lineup of guests, and we can’t WAIT to share their beautiful, powerful, honest, relatable, funny, raw, inspiring stories with you.
