Hello!
Someone recently asked me, “what is it like to hold Seasonal Family Almanac?”
Honestly, it’s a mixture of surreal, mind-blowing excitement and subtle deflation.
You see, it’s hard to package years of dynamic, intimate team work and creativity between two hard covers.
BUT…
Something happens when someone ELSE holds my book. Suddenly, this object that feels like a very small representation of a very big undertaking, COMES ALIVE.
I begin to see the book working its magic.
When Jana and I wrote Seasonal Family Almanac, we laughed at how we were writing a guidebook for ourselves by compiling our most beloved, seasonal recipes for food, herbal medicine and care, and crafts in one place.
But on the other side of publication, we feel more compelled than ever to share this handbook with YOU. It’s served our families in so many ways, and is bursting with wisdom that has largely been forgotten in our culture, but was meant for us all.
It would be my greatest pleasure to sign a book and hand it to you, so that it can be a living, breathing, seasonal companion for your family and generations to come!
In that spirit, I hope you’ll celebrate with me and pick up your copy at one of these amazing events in Ithaca. Save the date and stay tuned for more details!

April 21-23: Cafe DeWitt, 9am-2pm
All weekend you can enjoy a special dish featured from the book! On Sunday, have brunch and then head to Buffalo Street Books to pick up your signed copy.
April 23, 2023: Buffalo Street Books, 1 - 3 PM
Book chat and signing, kids crafting table featuring an activity from the book, and Café DeWitt will offer samples of a recipe from the book!
Buffalo Street Books will donate 10% of profits from event book sales to Ithaca Children’s Garden
April 29, 2023: Ithaca Beer Company, 3-6 PM
Book signing from 3 - 6 pm, special menu from the book with beer pairings featured from 12 - 9 pm, and official season opening of the beer garden!
June 27, 2023: Firelight Camps, 5 - 8 PM
Join us for an extra special Firelight Live Tuesday event: book signing from 5 - 7 pm food, live music, herbal demonstrations and products by The People’s Medicine School, wild plant walk with Sarah Kelsen and more!
Firelight Camps will donate 10% of profits from event sales to The People’s Medicine School
