A 10-Minute, Mess-Free Way to Prep Your Turk Mcgurk!
Quick and delicious dry brine + snow day chuckles
Happy Friday,
Winter arrived today in every parents’ favorite form: a snow day.
I won’t lie. I did enjoy dragging a sled full of snow up the hill ten times (bonus workout!) to build a throne for my queen, complete with evergreen bows and snowball crystals.
When we came inside, I had to remind my daughter that she was no longer the queen.
While we were hefting and packing snow, the power went out, so I began the excruciating task of convincing them to eat a can of sardines for lunch.
They loved it so much that they then ate the can of Trader Joe’s smoked trout that I’d been hoarding for myself.
I really do love winning sometimes.
Anyhoo… this moment of solitude is about to end, so shall we keep things short and sweet today?
Ok good.
I want to tell you about dry brining a turkey. Everything you need to know is here:
It’s a 10-minute process with VERY little mess and results in a very juicy bird that you’ll be proud of.
Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect! I repeat: it doesn’t have to be perfect.
No one will ever criticize the person who went to the effort of roasting (and buying) the bird. Remember that.
I know you all have much better things to do than comment on this email - truly - but if you have a moment, indulge this mamma for 10 seconds and let me know how you plan to prep your turkey.
I’m genuinely curious.
With sopping wet gloves,
♡ Emma
